My Review of The Elephant Man

The Elephant man was a great movie, directed by David Lynch, it is about a disfigured man known as the elephant being taken in by Dr. Treves to be examined which lead to unfortunate events. I liked that Lynch made the movie in black and white instead of color as it made things more emotional. Scenes were more intense, more horrific, and more upsetting. The movie can really get you thinking about how people can change, how you change as well. I found myself to be one of those people that are disgusted by the elephant man but his slow introduction into the movie made me adjust and really see that he was just another person as well as the nicest, probably even when he was alive, and best in the movie. The ending, thought to be confusing, weird, even sad, was actually beautiful sure the ending with the mother was kind of weird but he wanted to meet her and he die sadly he knew what he was doing.

My Name is John Merrick . . .

I was thrown into a cage next to many monkeys. They howled at me and tried to attack me. Then the wonderful people came to save me and put me on a boat going back home where I could see Dr. Treves again. Back home mothershead is such a nice person helping to take care of me. When I got back to the station a little boy started to follow me and did not me get away. I accidentally knocked over a little girl which only caused people to notice me and begin pursue me. I tried to lose them by going down a flight of stairs but they chased me to corner like if I were an animal. I am not an animal! I am a human being! I am a man.... a man. A guard was nice enough to bring me the rest of the way home where Dr. Treves... hugged me. I was back home and a few days later Dr. Treves and I went to one of Ms. Kendalls beautiful plays, such a wonderful lady she is. Later back home I completed my church

Blog #7 Fear

Fear is an obstacle people ignore throughout their lives or something they learn to overcome and better themselves by doing so. Fear isn't a tangible thing it's something that we perceive is physical and therefore takes the form of something wether it's spiders, bugs or an occurrence drowning, falling from heights. An example of fear restraining people is drowning. The fear of drowning can cause people to go throughout their lives without learning to swim this can be bad in the way that without knowing how to swim what would happen if you were on a cruise and the boat hits something hard enough to start sinking. The rafts are all gone due to panic how would you save yourself then. Swimming would be necessary to learn something new that might end up saving your life. A fear of heights although might not be thought to better yourself if overcome isn't really true. By overcoming a fear of heights by either parachuting or bungee jumping will help you become more outgoing and adventurous instead of just wondering "what if. . . I did ___".
